Duke has really good bench players.

Krzyzewski has been known for relying on a seven to eight man rotation, but he has a bunch of good bench players this year. He has spoken multiple times on how impressed he has been with Junior captains Jack White and Javin DeLaurier coming off the bench.

White provides a reliable three-point shot and incredible hustle on the floor. He can be seen doing the little things, such as, diving after loose balls no matter the time or score. Although White’s play on the floor don’t usually show up in the stat sheet, he was able to pull down 9 rebounds and dish out 2 assists versus Stetson.

DeLaurier has impressive communication skills on the defensive end of the floor. He is constantly calling out screens and assignments from the back of the defense. DeLaurier is also able to switch onto any player because of his athleticism and effort. He was able to end the game with 10 points and 5 rebounds.

Other notable bench players are sophomore’s Alex O’Connell and Jordan Goldwire.

O’Connell is an excellent three-point shooter who can space the floor. He was able to score 13 points and shoot three for seven from the three-point line.

Goldwire proved that he can be a good back-up for freshman Tre Jones when needed. Goldwire does a good job of getting the Blue Devils’ organized in their half-court offensive and provides pesky on-ball defense.
