No. 3 – Loser – Monmouth Hawks

Two years ago Monmouth was the toast of college basketball with their antics on the bench and how well they played. They almost got an at-large bid for the NCAA tournament. Last year they fell back to 11-20, but that is nothing compared to this year. They are one of just five teams that have failed to win a game this season, but this week was especially bad.

They say they like to play at Kentucky and it is good for their players. Well is losing by 56 good for you. If that was not bad enough then they went and lost to Bucknell by 22 to fall to 0-9 on the year. This was not a good week for the Hawks and it does not look like it will be a good year for them either.

No. 3 Winner – Radford Highlanders

Radford surprised a lot of people by upsetting Notre Dame a couple of weeks ago but then they turned around a lost to Duquesne and they came back down to Earth. But then this past week they upset a 17th ranked Texas team who just got done beating North Carolina last week.

The Highlanders are led by sophomore Carlik Jones who is averaging 16.2 points per game. Jones hit the game-winning layup late against Texas. Radford has shown their ability to play with the big boys. They have a couple more chances at upsets as they still play Clemson and Maryland. They would love to steal another one of those games. Then they just need to take that into conference play.
