NCAA Basketball Power Rankings: Michigan, Texas Tech climb further
17. Buffalo Bulls
Last Week: No. 20
As long as Buffalo continues to win, they will continue to rise up these rankings. Now almost an entire month into the year, the Bulls remain undefeated at 7-0 while holding onto their high-quality road win over West Virginia. And while their resume outside of that victory is fairly week, it is impossible to drop a team that continues to dominate all inferior opponents. The Bulls also added an underrated win over San Francisco this past weekend.
In terms of what is next on the schedule, the expectation should be that Buffalo will win each of their next three games. After that, though, the Bulls may have trouble with a four-game road trip that includes matchups against Marquette and Syracuse. If, somehow, the Bulls manage to go 4-0 during that stretch, they might start creeping into the top-10.
As has been the case all year, C.J. Massinburg (18.8 points) is the leader of the team. Easily one of the best 3-point shooters in the nation, Massinburg is currently shooting 23-for-45 (51.1%) from beyond the arc. Thanks to a strong supporting cast around him, the Buffalo Bulls are ranked 16th in the nation at the moment in points per game (87.1).
