16. Arizona State Sun Devils

Last Week: No. 25

Am I too high on Arizona State? Maybe, but that is not going to stop me. Even though the Sun Devils lost a ton of talent this offseason, I was quite high on the team heading into the year. And now that they stand as one of the few undefeated teams in the country, Arizona State warrants plenty of attention. Of course, it is easy to point to a lack of strong competition as a major reason for this 7-0 start but I will mention that neutral-site wins over Mississippi State and Utah State are quality victories.

Looking ahead at the upcoming schedule, though, Arizona State is about to be seriously tested. I mean, look at these next four games: Nevada (N), Georgia (A), Vanderbilt (A), and Kansas (H). Good. Luck. If the Sun Devils are even able to split that group of games, they will be in great shape moving forward.

A young team on the whole, Arizona State is dominated by underclassmen. And at the forefront of this group is bruising guard Luguentz Dort. A 6-foot-4, 215-pound force, Dort is averaging 21.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game so far this season. Alongside him, senior forward Zylan Cheatham is doing it all for ASU, posting 12.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
