NCAA Basketball Power Rankings: Michigan, Texas Tech climb further
25. Nebraska Cornhuskers
Last Week: Unranked
After disappointingly missing the NCAA Tournament a year ago despite a strong record, Nebraska is back with a vengeance. Led by the outstanding senior trio of James Palmer, Isaac Copeland, and Glynn Watson Jr., this team has the starpower to be a dangerous team in the Big Ten. They might not be the favorites to win the conference title but they have performed to expectations so far this season.
With a glimmering 7-1 record that includes wins over three major conference teams, the Cornhuskers deserve their spot at the back-end of these power rankings. Additionally, their lone loss came at the hands of Texas Tech, a team that I will cover late in this article. Nebraska head coach Tim Miles has done a superb job grooming this team to where they currently stand. This is an upperclassmen-laden roster and that could be a difference-maker in the ultra-competitive Big Ten.
One of the best defensive teams in the nation, Nebraska will drag out possessions and really force opponents into poor shots. Additionally, the Cornhuskers boast four players who average around one block per game so it would be a mistake to attack the basket.
