Duke Blue Devils

The projected roster for Duke (for the most part) looks clear in terms of who’s staying or leaving. The top three freshmen (Zion Williamson, Cam Reddish, and RJ Barrett are future top-5 picks for sure. Then there’s Tre Jones, who’s been coming into his own and like his brother and former Blue Devil Tyus, could be a late first-round pick in his own right if he chooses to leave after his freshman year this season.

After top point guard prospect Cole Anthony leaving Duke out of his final list, there were slight concerns that the team was running out of viable options on the perimeter for the 2019-20 season. But as expected, Coach K and staff came up clutch, grabbing west coast star and top-35 combo guard prospect Boogie Ellis. He joins five-star small forward Wendell Moore as the early commits for the team’s 2019 recruiting class.

With Barrett likely gone though, the shooting guard position is wide open and needs a star to come right in and make a major impact. There will be veterans surrounding Edwards with players such as Jack White, Javin DeLaurier, Marques Bolden and Alex O’Connell probably all returning. But there isn’t that guard at the moment that can average 20 ppg and shoot the lights out from distance. It’s an unexpected opportunity that Duke will look to seize on.
