Gonzaga (8-0)

Oh boy…I told myself I wouldn’t predict a team would come dangerously close to going unbeaten and then we get to the Gonzaga slide.

The team that dethroned Duke looks pretty flawless at this point in time.  With five KenPom Top 100 wins, one being the Duke victory and wins over Illinois, Texas A&M, Arizona and Creighton, it’s easy to see why Gonzaga is one of the best in the nation today.

With December reving up, the Zags have a couple of tough tasks with Washington, Tennessee and North Carolina all in a 10 day stretch.

The Huskies and Vols seem to be wins, if not tough wins.  But the chances of a loss jump up a bit on December 15th when Mark Few and Roy Williams clash.

Both teams are great at what they do and have an abundance of talent, but the deciding factor is that this game is a true road game for the Zags who will travel across the country to Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

For their epic clash with Duke, the crowd factor wasn’t much of an issue as it was a neutral court show down in Maui so it will be a tough challenge to take on a nationally ranked team in front of their own passionate fan base in enemy territory.

To call back to my friend, Towel Tossing Tim, I predicted to him that Gonzaga will win the National Championship this year, but they won’t do so in perfect fashion.

First Loss: @ North Carolina, December 15th.
