Buffalo (7-0)

On November 9th, the entire college basketball world took a gasp when coach Nate Oats led his Bulls team into West Virginia and, on the strength of 43 points from CJ Massingburg, knocked off the Mountaineers in dramatic fashion.

This big win was bookend three days later with a win over South Illinois, who themselves had just pushed Big Blue Nation to brink the same night Buffalo beat WVU.  Sprinkle in a few gimmie’s, and a hard fought victory over San Francisco in Belfast, Ireland, Buffalo has seemingly found their footing.

With their closest projected conference game not occurring till February 16th, where KenPom gives them a 59% change to knock off Toledo, the next few weeks for the Bulls could prove to be potentially historic.

However, it won’t be that easy as they head to face Syracuse on December 18th.  The Orange, who boast an average size of 79.3″ (6’6″), uses this to their advantage along with their patented zone defense.

Ranking 8th in Defensive Adjusted Efficiency, and ranking Top-30 in the country in both block % and steal %, the 18th of December could end up being a tricky outing for Buffalo in what should be a pretty hostile environment.

Next Loss: @ Syracuse, December 18th.
