Atlantic 10 Basketball has had an undeniably rough start to the season, but there is still plenty of strong basketball being played. Here’s how all the teams currently rank from 14-1.

Richmond lost to Longwood. UMass lost to Howard. St. Bonaventure lost to Niagara. The list of inexcusable losses throughout the conference goes on and on, and there have only been a few marquis wins to remedy them. Everyone knew it would be a tough year for the A10, but nobody was expecting it to reach quite this level.

Coming into the season, George Mason was viewed as one of the favorites in the A10. However, tough opening losses to the early part of the schedule has changed those preseason views. But with 20+ games left on the season, the Patriots have plenty of time to turn things around.

Overall, however, the season, and the conference, are both extremely young, and young teams often take a while to figure things out. No, the A10 won’t have four or five Tournament bids this season, but there are still plenty of promising players and teams that are worth keeping an eye on.

These power rankings are based off of a mix of team record, strength of schedule, and efficiency ratings, and are extremely subject to change between now and the next edition.

Essentially, they’re how I think the teams would rank in the A10 standings if they were to continue playing all year as they have been thus far.
