14: La Salle (0-9)

Considering that the Explorers are the only A10 team without a W on the season, it would be wrong to put anyone else in this position. They’ve played an absolutely murderous schedule so far, with five of their eight games coming against likes of Miami, Villanova, Temple, Florida, and Northwestern, but they’ve certainly dropped some games they should have won as well (eg. Lafayette and Drexel).

The schedule is about to open up a little bit for the Explorers, as they have Penn, Bucknell, and Alabama A&M coming up, but they absolutely have to find a way to win at least one (but probably even two) of those games. They’ll need all the momentum they can afford in their opening A10 contests at Massachusetts, at VCU and against Saint Louis, respectively.

This is Ashley Howard’s first season as head coach, so it makes sense for La Salle to be struggling out of the gate, but no one expected an 0-9 type of struggle. There’s plenty of time to turn it around however, and I have faith that Ashley Howard will eventually figure out how to make this team somewhat competitive. Expect them to climb a few spots between now and March, but don’t expect to see it happen immediately.
