Considering Georgetown has played the easiest schedule in the conference so far (and by a wide margin), the fact that they are not undefeated is why I considered putting them even lower on this list. Per KenPom, Georgetown’s current strength of schedule rating ranks 304th (out of 353) in the nation. That is far from ideal, especially when you consider that it does not get much more challenging as the non-conference schedule goes on. They still have battles against Syracuse and SMU coming up but neither one will likely boost the Hoyas’ SOS that much higher.

Having said this, Georgetown only has one remotely quality win at this point and that was a road victory over Illinois. They also, though, suffered a tough loss to Loyola-Marymount and then needed overtime to take care of South Florida in the game that followed. The Hoyas have not been particularly impressive so far this year but there is still plenty of hope for the future. This is due to the fact that the team, despite not playing tremendously well yet, still stands with a strong 7-1 record.

As was expected heading into this year, big man Jessie Govan is leading the way for the team so far this year at 19.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Additionally, though, the Hoyas are getting very solid contributions from their freshmen. Most notably, James Akinjo is averaging 14.1 points and 4.9 assists per game.
