The West Coast Conference has been run by Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s for a while now. While the Gaels have fallen off a little this year, the Zags might be better than ever. They are currently ranked number one including the win over Duke earlier in the year. They won a tough road game at Creighton earlier this week and will take on Washington, Tennessee, and North Carolina in their next three games. If they can get by those games they might have a chance to run the table in the regular season.

While Gonzaga is by far the top team, San Francisco and Loyal Marymount are playing very well to help strengthen the conference. Add in San Diego and it makes for a good top four. San Francisco just lost their first game of the year by four to a very good Buffalo team. Loyola Marymount just lost their first game to UCLA, but before that had big wins over UNLV and Georgetown.

Right now the conference is running on the strength of how good Gonzaga is playing but if the middle can continue to play well they will continue to be a better conference than the Pac-12 and stay just ahead of the American.
