Wisconsin vs. Marquette: 2018-19 College basketball preview, TV schedule
Who wins this game?
Ethan Happ is averaging a double-double while D’Mitrik Trice is shooting the lights out right now. The Golden Eagles also has a guy who can shoot the ball pretty well in Markus Howard. Trice has made 30 triples this year while Howard has 29 of his own.
Wisconsin shot up the rankings and bracketology within a month. They went from unranked and on the bubble to No. 12 and as high as a four-seed on some listings. That is thanks to a road wins over Xavier and Iowa while going 2-1 in the Bahamas and knocking off North Carolina State.
Marquette started the season hovering around the top-25, but fell out completely when they lost to Indiana by 23. They lost to Kansas by less than 10, came back to beat Louisville and then defeated Kansas State. With a win over Wisconsin, Marquette should see themselves back in the top-25.
Basketball is exciting for both of these Wisconsin teams again. Marquette just missed out on the Tournament last season while Wisconsin snapped a 19 year Tournament streak. It’s looking good for the Badgers and Golden Eagles. There’s no more Bo Ryan, Tom Crean or Buzz Williams. It’s now Greg Gard and Steve Wojciechowski in the annual game between Marquette and Wisconsin.
Prediction: Wisconsin 71, Marquette 66
