7) Texas is gonna Texas

On Thanksgiving night just two short weeks ago, Texas was undefeated and had just knocked off North Carolina. They were a legit top 20 team and were thought of as maybe the biggest threat to Kansas in the Big 12.

Since then, the Longhorns are 0-3 with their last two losses coming to Radford and VCU – at home.

Their offense is averaging just 60 points per game during his losing streak and has combined to shoot just 37.9 percent from the field and 20.5 percent from three in those losses to Radford and VCU.

Head coach Shaka Smart had been criticized throughout his first three years in Austin for failing to meet expectations. Yes, the Longhorns have been to the NCAA Tournament in two of those three years, but there was always the feeling that Texas could be much better than they were.

Through six games, Smart looked like he was going to change that narrative. Now it’s still very much alive.
