Week five gave us some great games, especially over the weekend. As NCAA Basketball hits the slow time before the conference starts, we look back at the winners and losers of the past week.

This week the college basketball schedule is very weak, but at least we were treated to some good basketball this past week. The Big Ten played their second conference game and this weekend gave us some great games and even better finishes.

Teams are starting to show their true colors and the top teams are starting to separate themselves. Other teams are looking more like pretenders, while some the middle of the polls continue to be a rotating door.

This week gave us Michigan finally giving up more than 67 points, but they still won by 11. Duke beating up on another inferior opponent. New Mexico State and VCU gave Kansas and Virginia all they could handle. And the Big East finally showed some signs of life.

The Pac-12 still looks like the worst power conference in the country even though Arizona State played a good game against Nevada on Friday. Arizona went down to an Alabama team who just lost to Georgia State. They are in danger of maybe only getting one team into the tournament this year.

Before we get to this slow week, let’s take a look back at who was the big winners and losers of week five.
