The leading scorers go head-to-head

The final storyline to keep an eye on in this game is the matchup between the leading scorers on their respective teams, for Louisville that is sophomore forward Jordan Nwora and for the Bisons that would be senior forward Rob Marberry.

Nwora has led Louisville in points and rebounds in five of the team’s nine games, including their last game against Indiana where he had 24 points and 14 rebounds.  The 6-8 native of Buffalo is averaging more points in his second season than he averaged minutes in his first. As a freshman, he scored 5.7 points in 12 minutes of action and this year he has netted 17.8 points per contest and pulls down a team-high 7.8 rebounds while shooting 48% from the field and nearly 37% from three-point land.

Marberry is a 6-7 senior playing for his hometown team leading the Bisons in scoring at 16.9 points per contest. He also pulls down four rebounds and dishes out 2.6 assists per game, while shooting 63% from the field.

With Lipscomb being versatile offensively, Marberry has only led the team in scoring twice, but those two times have come in the Bisons’ last two games where he has scored 26 in each while snatching an average of six boards.
