NCAA Basketball Power Rankings: Indiana, Marquette quietly rising
11. Florida State Seminoles
Last Week: No. 12
I will admit that I was a bit too low on Florida State heading into this season. The Seminoles have been impressive in the early going so far this year and their collection of wins (Florida, LSU, Purdue, and UConn) is hard to argue with. Additionally, their only loss to this point in the year came against another nationally-ranked team in Villanova. This is clearly a very talented, deep, and experienced team that will be dangerous in ACC play.
Head coach Leonard Hamilton has his team playing selfless basketball focused on getting everyone involved within the offense. Nine players have played in all nine games (all averaging over 10 minutes per game) for the Seminoles so far this season and this has resulted in fresh legs come crunch time. Of these rotation members, Mfiondu Kabengele (11.4 points) has been extremely impressive to me as a huge contributor off the bench.
FSU has played the 49th-most challenging schedule in the nation to this point and stands at 8-1. Hard to argue with how the Seminoles have performed so far. As long as Florida State continues to set the pace in big games, they will out-run opponents en route to a superb record this year.
