7. Nevada Wolf Pack

Last week: No. 6

Easily one of the best offensive teams in the nation, Nevada remains undefeated after this week and definitely belongs in the nation’s top-10. Head coach Eric Musselman has his team playing at an extremely high level and seemingly every single player has bought into the system. During this past week, the Wolf Pack secured two strong neutral-site wins over Arizona State and Grand Canyon. Nevada has not played a true home game since Nov. 19 and they are proving to be every bit of a top-10 with their nationwide destruction tour.

As was expected heading into the year, seniors Caleb Martin (18.7 points) and Jordan Caroline (18.6 points, 10.2 rebounds) are leading the way for the Wolf Pack so far this season. Having said this, though, it is important to mention that one of Nevada’s biggest strengths of bench scoring. Even when Martin or Caroline is struggling, the Wolf Pack seemingly can always turn to their reserves for key contributions. Most notably, Jazz Johnson has risen to the occasion so far this year with 12.6 points per game off the bench on .578/.543/.931 shooting.

Moving forward, Nevada still has a couple of tough challenges left on their non-conference schedule. Prior to the start of Mountain West play, battles with South Dakota State (H) and Utah (A) await for the Wolf Pack.
