Kansas Jayhawks

Lets be honest. Kansas is involved in just about every major transfer. And most of the time, they end up getting their guy.

Kansas’ current roster is the best example. Three of their key players, the Lawson twins and Charlie Moore, are all transfers. Bill Self’s team hasn’t always been the best in terms of recruiting, at least to the level of other powerhouse schools, but Quinerly would be a huge add.

Additionally, most of Kansas’ current team will be gone by then. Five star freshmen Quinten Grimes and Devon Dotson should be long gone to the NBA. LaGerald Vick will have graduated, and the Lawson’s will be gone as well.

Obviously we can’t predict what Kansas is going to recruiting from now until 2020. But as of right now, there’s a clear need at guard. Kansas was one of Quinerly’s top schools, and given the fact that Kansas has been a melting pot of transfers, I’m sure that Quinerly will at least be interested in the opportunity to play for Kansas.

The only thing in the way of Quinerly deciding to transfer to Kansas is the fact that there’s no guarantee that what is happening at Villanova won’t happen at Kansas. Kansas doesn’t always pull in top-10 recruits, but they do recruit well enough, and have always had a stacked roster. Quinerly would need assurance that he’d play a big role, and he’d also need to fight his way into the Jayhawks’ rotation, something that he might not be willing to risk.

If he decides to hit the transfer market, Jahvon Quinerly would be one of the most highly-touted recruits in a while. Dozens of teams will be in the market for the point guard, and he’d likely be a key contributor by the time he’s eligible to play. Quinerly hasn’t made any decisions just yet, but all signs are pointing to his transfer, and it’ll certainly be a big story to watch if he decides to leave Philadelphia.
