‘Tis the season to be…well, honestly? ‘Tis the season to fall a wide array of emotions if you’re a fan of a team in the Mid-Major ranks of NCAA Basketball.

As the NCAA Basketball season begins to unfold more-and-more by the day, we get to see what teams are for real and which teams may have been hyped up a bit too much.  But, given it’s December, there’s a sense of magic and excitement in the air.

Be it contender of pretender, teams have plenty to be thankful for and plenty to be looking forward to  as conference play looms.  Often times in conference play things unfold where teams with a nice looking record, padded by lowly opponents, get exposed and teams with a promising future begin to formulate a contending present.

Today, we’re going to take a look at a handful of Mid-Major conferences and what they should be putting near the top of their holiday wish lists.  The next few weeks will prove to be vital for many of these leagues as their hopes for March begin to come more into focus.

For the sake of the article, we’ll be looking at the West Coast Conference, Atlantic 10, Mountain West, Mid-American, Missouri Valley, Ivy League and Conference USA.
