2. Carsen Edwards – Purdue

The Boilermakers and head coach Matt Painter enter the season as one of the teams in the conference with the most question marks. The Boilers have the talent to compete in the league but are also having to replace four very decorated seniors. One of the returning players for Purdue is junior guard Carsen Edwards. Edwards is one of the most exciting players to watch in the country. With the roster that the Boilers posses this season, it is going to be the Edwards show if they want to win many games.

The guard is a premium scorer and is going to be an NBA player when his career in West Lafayette is over. Edwards is not only going to see him name all over the Big Ten player of the year. The guard is going to find himself on many national player of the year lists. Edwards is going to put up tremendous offensive numbers this year, not only because he is capable, but because Purdue needs the guard to maximize his efforts on the offensive glass to have a chance in the loaded Big Ten most nights.

Saying that Edwards is the only source of offense for the Boilers is not fair to the rest of this roster. The roster is capable, but the guard needs to not only score but distribute rebound and play defense.  The Boilers offense is at its best when their best player is scoring. The roster as it assembled now is still a middle tier big ten team and will most likely find themselves in the NCAA tournament. Every fan who enjoys gifted scorers should tune into a Purdue game, they will not leave disappointed.
