Christmas is less than two weeks away, so to go along with the Christmas spirit, lets take a look at five things Syracuse Basketball should ask for Christmas.
At 7-3, the Syracuse Orange are the #25 team in the country.
It has been an up-and-down start to the season for Jim Boeheim’s crew, who started out the season ranked #16.
Syracuse got off to a fairly slow start, losing to rival UConn in just their third game of the season. That loss was followed up with another loss, this time to #12 Oregon, which dropped Syracuse out of the top-25.
However, past that rough stretch, its been mostly good for the Orange. Syracuse upset previous undefeated #16 Ohio State, and picked up a huge win over rival Georgetown last week. But the Orange did take a loss this past Saturday against a talented team from Conference USA in Old Dominion.
Clutch shooting, stifling defense, and quality offense have gotten Syracuse to this point. A big matchup against undefeated Buffalo looms next week, but for now, Syracuse should be hoping for a few early Christmas gifts from Santa.
As expected, the veterans are carrying the load for the Orange. Junior guard Tyus Battle is leading the team with 18 points per game. We’ll get to Battle and the other experienced Syracuse basketball players later on in the list.
Arguably the most competitive conference in all of college basketball, the ACC is looking pretty strong so far this season. Conference play is just weeks away, and the Orange obviously have some things that they need to fix up before conference play tips off.
Here are five things that the Syracuse Orange need for Christmas.
