10. Oklahoma State Cowboys (4-6)

Previous Ranking: No. 9

The only sub-.500 team in the Big 12, the Oklahoma State Cowboys are in the midst of a nightmare month of December. After upsetting the LSU Tigers back on Nov. 25, it’s been nothing but ugly for the Cowboys, who have lost their last four games. Oklahoma State has shown no ability to stick with quality competition recently, losing to Houston by 10 and falling to Nebraska by 23.

As for on-court production, junior guard Lindy Waters III is carrying the load, averaging 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game. Waters had a solid sophomore campaign last season, but just simply lacks the surrounding talent to follow up last season’s showing with a quality season this time around.

Oklahoma State will finish up their non-conference slate by hosting a pair of sub-.500 mid-major teams. First, they will face off against Central Arkansas on Dec. 21 and then take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to finish off the month.

The pair of games should be easy enough for the Cowboys to return to .500 to start out conference play while allowing the team to return to form against lesser opponents. OSU will host Iowa State to tip off conference play on Jan. 2 and there’s clearly a lot of work that needs to be done on the court between now and then if the Cowboys want any chance to climb out of the cellar.
