13. Buffalo Bulls
Record: 10-0 (0-0 MAC)
Last Week: No. 13
A massive week is approaching for Buffalo basketball. After taking the nation by storm with a hot undefeated start, the Bulls are now going to take two massive tests to prove how worthy they will be of at-large consideration at the end of the season. And while Buffalo has proven a lot over the past 12 months, it is never easy for a mid-major to snag resume-building wins and they have two major opportunities approaching.
During this next week, head coach Nate Oats’ squad will be heading on the road to take on Syracuse and Marquette in back-to-back games. At this point in time, it seems as though both the Orange and the Golden Eagles will be NCAA Tournament teams at the end of the year and Buffalo will hopefully be able to snag at least one win during the week. If they are able to do that then their at-large hopes will be very real.
Gameplanning for these two teams, though, will be very difficult considering their massive contrasts in style. Will the Bulls be able to outshoot Syracuse’s zone and then proceed to outscore Marquette? It will be a tough week for the team but they definitely have their chance to prove that they belong in the top-15. Go get em, Buffalo. We are all rooting for you (except Syracuse and Marquette fans).
