1. Kansas Jayhawks

Record: 9-0 (0-0 Big 12)

Last Week: No. 1

Kansas will remain my No. 1 team until they drop a game. Sure, the Jayhawks have looked a little shaky in the past couple of weeks but they are still undefeated with an elite collection of wins. Kansas currently sits at 9-0 and, in my opinion, all nine of their victories could be classified as quality wins. Most notably, of course, are their wins over Michigan State, Marquette, Tennessee, and Villanova, though.

Even though the Jayhawks have not been particularly dominant of late, they have the best resume in the country at this point in time and that might not change any time soon. To conclude non-conference play, Kansas will have another opportunity to notch a top-25 win when they go on the road to take on Arizona State. They also face South Dakota and Eastern Michigan at home prior to Big 12 play tipping off.

In terms of individual contributors, Dedric Lawson is already showing why many pegged him as the preseason National Player of the Year. The 6-foot-8 transfer from Memphis is doing a little bit of everything for the Jayhawks so far: 20.1 points (.492/.200/.769), 10.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. Hard to argue with how well he has played.

That concludes this edition of my weekly top-25+ power rankings. Did your team make the cut? If not, there is still plenty of time left in the season to make a push and climb into the rankings and the national spotlight. The 2018-19 NCAA basketball is still young and it should be sensational to follow in the coming months. Also stay on the lookout for my updated bracketology projections…coming soon.
