18. Indiana Hoosiers
Record: 9-2 (2-0 Big Ten)
Last Week: No. 22
While many of the teams in these rankings either played a cupcake opponent or took the week off, Indiana added one of the better wins of the week. Despite trailing almost the entire game, Rob Phinisee played hero with a deep heave at the buzzer to knock off Butler at the Crossroads Classic (excuse me while, as a Butler fan, I go cry) this past weekend.
This marked another big win in this early season for the Hoosiers, who have won their last three games by a combined eight points. It is clear that IU has played with fire a lot in the past couple of weeks but it is hard to argue with the fact that they have won each of those games. Juwan Morgan, who had 35 points against Butler, is reprising his starring role from last season while star freshman Romeo Langford is definitely doing hs thing offensively.
Indiana still has a fairly long way to go in their development this year but they currently stand at 9-2 and deserve to be in the top-25. The scary thought, though, is that this team is far from reaching its ceiling, in my opinion. The Hoosiers have a good shot at competing near the top of the ultra-competition Big Ten this season.
