Kansas Basketball can’t ask for much more with a No. 1 ranking. But what else could the Jayhawks use to be even better for the rest of the season?

Finals are over, and the students are all on Christmas break. Many teams around the country are finishing up their non-conference slate and getting prepared for conference play. These are trying times for College Basketball junkies, the slate of games is weak and most of them are not very competitive. Fans everywhere are clamoring for conference play to begin.

As the Christmas season approaches every coach has a Christmas list for their team. The list could be anything as basic to winning games or hoping an injured player returns from injury. Some coaches and programs are going to have shorter lists that other teams. Teams are not always going to get what they want, and some will get much more than they ever could have imagined.

The Kansas Jayhawks are the consensus No. 1 team in the country, believe it or not they do have some areas to improve upon. Head Coach Bill Self is hoping that Santa will grant his wishes and bring him all of the items on his list. The Big 12 is looking to be back on top of the conference hierarchy this year.

They appear to be a very deep conference and might be a tough out. Even the teams not expected to do much have been beating some powerhouse teams over the last couple of weeks. The Jayhawks do not need much, but they do need a few things to help bring them over the top. What is Coach Self hoping Santa is going to leave under the Jayhawk Christmas tree on Tuesday morning?
