3. LaGerald Vick continuing his great play

The way this senior guard is playing this season has been amazing. The play is especially surprising considering Vick and coach Self had no idea if he would even be on campus this year to play basketball. Vick is currently shooting 50% from beyond the three-point line and has won the Jayhawks a few games this season. The Kansas team, which outside of Vick and freshman guard Devon Dotson, is not a great shooting team. They desperately needs Vick to remain engaged in this team as he has for most of the season.

The 3+ years that the senior has been in Lawrence have been a roller coaster ride. Just when everything seemed to be going well for Vick he showed up late to a shoot around and was benched by Coach Self. The Jayhawk star struggled from beyond the arc and overall struggled on the floor at that time. The senior seems to have broken out of that funk and is now back to playing at the extremely high level he was earlier this season.

When the guard does what is asked of him, and plays by Coach Self’s rules he is one of the best shooters in the country and can change a game on both the offensive and defensive end of the floor. The Jayhawks need Vick to be great in order to reach their full potential of success. The senior along with big man Dedric Lawson are very important to the offensive success of the Jayhawks. Vick helps spread the floor dominates the touches from beyond the arc, the senior has 63 three-point attempts and the second most on the team is 33. When Vick is engaged and playing with this type of energy Kansas can be a force.

Coach Self and the rest of Jayhawk nation are going to watching intently to see if Vick can keep up his tremendous play. If Santa delivers these items under the Jayhawks tree this Christmas a run to the Final Four and potential for a National Championship are not out of the question.
