Hit free throws

Free throws have been the key to the game for Michigan almost every game and until they get consistent at them it will continue to be. The first half against Western Michigan might have been one of the worst free throw shooting displays by Michigan ever. It didn’t seem like they were ever going to hit one. The Wolverines could have been leading by double digits if they would have hit all of the free throws.

The second half, though, was much better as Matthews hit a lot of free throws and actually ended up 11-16 for the game. Considering he missed four of this first five attempts that is a great job. He has done a great job of getting to the line, he just needs to continue to improve from the line.

Michigan, as a whole, has struggled but if the second half is a sign of things to come maybe it will get better. Simpson is still shaky at best at the line and Teske is a 50/50 prospect from there. Poole has continued to shoot well and Wolverines hope that last game was just a mirage for Brazdeikis and not a sign of what will happen in the future.

The biggest thing for Michigan is to keep getting to the line and not shy away from it because of their early struggles. Keep attacking and then hit the shots.

Air Force has struggled early this year and are just not a very good team at this point in the season. Michigan is the much better team and should win this game easily. Look for the Wolverines to come out sharper than they did against Western Michigan and put the Falcons away early. They should be up by double digits at halftime and coast the rest of the way. Michigan wins this one going away and heads into Christmas 12-0.

Final Prediction: Michigan 83 – Air Force 57
