The holiday season approaching and everyone can ask for a few things at this time of year. What will Butler basketball be hoping is under their tree?
The holiday season is here. And for Butler basketball, it is time to ask for some gifts to help out along the way this season. Through the opening month of the year, the Dawgs have performed relatively well on the court but the team is yet to reach its ceiling. Now that everyone is completely eligible, healthy, and ready to play, fans are just now starting to see how successful this Butler team might be able to be this season and it is a very fun time.
Every single game is seemingly providing another positive takeaway regarding the potential of the team down the road. In terms of record, the Dawgs currently stand at 9-3 with one more non-conference game (at Florida) left on the schedule. Should they be able to pull off the minor upset there to complete the season sweep of the Gators, Butler would have some tremendous positive momentum heading into conference play.
And considering the Big East, and Villanova especially, is in the midst of a down season, there is an open spot on the throne atop the league. Marquette and St. John’s might be the current favorites but, with the way this team is playing, it would not be a major surprise to see Butler join that list of contenders fairly soon. In order for this to happen, though, the Dawgs have a few things that they can wish for this holiday season. Here are a few of those items that head coach LaVall Jordan might have put on his letter to Santa.
