Coach Chris Mack Is Restoring Faith In The Face Of Failure

At a local level a lot of the fans have forgiven but not forgotten the sins of the past. They still follow Rick Pitino’s every move, rant about what Tom Jurich could have done better and scoff at the mention of the once beloved Andre McGee.

Redemption is in the air though. A new chapter and great hope is brewing at home. Chris Mack has an elite incoming recruiting class and the members of the current roster are as likable and hard-working as any group of Cardinals in recent memory. The quality of play and wins don’t hurt either.

Louisville Basketball’s image nationally though still has wounds to heal. Black clouds don’t just dissipate, they creep away slowly, pushed aside by a strong and steady wind of change.

dark. Next. Biggest takeaways of the week

People in the national media and fandoms won’t be quick to forget but if there is redemption to be had and hope to be held on to(and there definitely are) then we’ve got the right man for the job. Coach Chris Mack is a student of the game and a man of the people. More than the gift under the tree or the stockings hung like banners, he’s the lights shining on the tree and the warmth of house full of family of friends.
