Stay out of Foul Trouble

As has been mentioned throughout this writing. Nebraska while a very good team does have some limitations. Most of them revolving around their depth and lack of a deep bench. Nebraska has at time this season had some guys who cannot stay of out foul trouble. Not only can some players not stay out of foul trouble, they obtain those fouls in some very interesting ways.

The Huskers style of defense they play is a very physical style and it is going to lead to fouls. Nebraska does not foul all that much, everything considered but when they do it is a hinderance to the team and their depth. The fouls that arise out of the physicality of Nebraska playing defense are ones that are acceptable. The fouls that get teams in quick foul trouble are those that are right after the timeline, or the reach in fouls after the player has gone past you.

Aggressive defense and smart defense are different. The reach ins and the fouls a long way from the basket are those that are going to drive a coach crazy. The players need to be smart and realize they have help on the defensive end or just let the player go to the basket. The Huskers do not have the depth to have their best players in foul trouble. When Coach Miles has is his starting five on the floor all able to play freely and able to play defense without the fear of fouling out they are tremendously tough to beat. With one of the weapons off the floor saddled with fouls, Nebraska is not as potent on either end.
