The NCAA basketball season is finally heading into conference play as the calendar turns to 2019. Which teams have been the biggest disappointments so far this year?

The basketball season is about a halfway through the season and there has been some great basketball. Michigan has surprised almost everyone in climbing to number two in the polls. Duke has a group of freshman led by Zion Williamson. Nevada is still undefeated and could run the table in the regular season. Buffalo has proved to be for real and Houston is creeping up the polls also undefeated.

On the flip side, there has been some bad basketball. Tennessee Tech lost back to back games by over 50 points. Tulsa beat Kansas State in a 47-46 game that was tough to watch. The Pac 12 has shown that they are a bad basketball conference and are in danger of only getting one team into the NCAA tournament.

Out of all that has happened, there are a few teams that have definitely not lived up to expectations this year. For every Michigan that has surpassed expectations, there is a team that has completely fallen flat.

We are going to take a look at five teams that have been the biggest busts so far this year. Their records may look like they are having a good season but as we dig deeper into their losses it shows a different story.
