Even though the holiday season limited the number of games played this week, several teams were still able to snag big wins for their bracketology resumes.

There were not many high-profile games during this past week but some teams still managed to improve their future NCAA Tournament resumes.  At this point in the year, teams have started to solidify their positions in the national rankings but each game is still incredibly important. With league play coming up for everyone around the nation, this past week represented the last chance for teams to secure top-notch non-conference wins.

Which teams were able to take advantage and improve their resumes heading into conference play? Well, that is what this article is about. For those who have not followed this series during the first two months of this season, the “bracketology winners” looks at those teams that improved their future NCAA Tournament resumes the most during the past week. This can be via winning one monster game or by quietly collecting a couple underrated victories.

There were quite a few teams who landed some signature wins during this past weekend but I do want to make a quick note about which teams were excluded from this list. Even though Kentucky (over Louisville) and Seton Hall (over St. John’s) added two of the biggest wins of the week for their respective resumes, neither one is detailed in this article due to the fact that I discussed both of them during last week’s edition of this piece.

Now, with the introduction complete, let’s dive into five of the biggest winners during this past week in the world of bracketology. (All statistics used in this article were found via Sports-Reference or KenPom.)
