Stats: 19.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 3.0 apg
LW: 6

Martin’s chances of winning the award are slim given the lack of real “moment-making” opportunities on the national stage in the Mountain West, but he has been the best player for Nevada this year.

Being the best player on one of the best teams in the country is usually a prerequisite when it comes to this award, and Martin has that boxed checked. He’s their go-to guy and has bailed them out of some tight late-game situations already, being at his best when his best is needed.

There’s also the consistency factor. Martin has scored at least 12 points in every game this year, including eight games with at least 20. Plus, Martin’s never off the court. He has played at least 39 minutes in six of the Wolf Pack’s last seven games.

He’ll hang around this race all season long as Nevada continues to win, yet his only chance to take home the trophy might be if the Wolf Pack were to finish undefeated – something that isn’t out of the question.
