9. Florida State Seminoles

Record: 11-1 (0-0 ACC)

Last Week: No. 9

Another extremely balanced team, Florida State gets it done on both ends of the floor. With an extremely deep and balanced roster, the Seminoles can match up with just about anyone and it is always exciting to see which player emerges as the leading scorer each night because everybody has the potential to drop 15+. Their offense, which is centered around inside scoring, either via driving, cuts, or second-chance opportunities, is ranked at 23rd in the nation. Additionally, this team does a very good job drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line.

On the defensive end of the floor, Florida State forces a ton of turnovers. Their tenacious perimeter defenders make life extremely difficult on opponents and their overall defensive turnover percentage (23.7% of possessions) ranks 20th in the nation. And while they allow opponents to attempt their fair share of 3-pointers, they do a nice job closing out and preventing clean looks.

In regards to their current resume, Florida State’s best win actually came in the season opener, where they destroyed Florida by 21 points. In addition, the Seminoles have put together victorious performances against LSU, Purdue, UConn, and Saint Louis. Their lone loss, which came at the hands of Villanova, is not something to be concerned about, either.
