The New Year is here, and you know what that means. NCAA Basketball conference play has begun. Here is the top player in each conference.

Whenever we talk about the top players in the country, we always tend to be a bit too broad or too specific.

Discussions are always about the top player on each team, or the top player in the country. Rarely do we ever, only when it comes to awards, compare players within each conference, even the smallest of the mid majors.

While each individual conference names a player of the year after every season, the topic isn’t exactly a buzzing one throughout the season.

However, we’re going to talk about it anyway. Heading into conference play, it’s always fun to take a look at the top players and teams in each conference. In this article, we’ll take a look at the top player in each of the 32 Division-1 NCAA conferences.

A couple of things to consider before we get started:

  • The top player in each conference might not be the front-runner for the player of the year. The player of the year is commonly the player with the best stats, however the best player in each conference might go beyond the stats, especially when it comes to that player’s value on his team.
  • The top player on the top team is not automatically the top player in the conference (spoiler alert: the Big 10’s top player doesn’t come from Michigan). Again, it’s just the top pure player. Nothing too complicated here.

Let’s get started!
