#10: St. Bonaventure Bonnies

St. Bonaventure is a team that you can never count out because of Mark Schmidt and how hard it is to play in the Reilly Center, but they’ve been disappointing thus far, to say the least. Much of it has to do with the inconsistent health of Courtney Stockard and LaDarien Griffin, easily their two best players and leaders, but one still might have thought they’d be better than 4-9 with or without them. The Bonnies have played a relatively tough schedule, especially of late, but they also have losses to teams they easily could have beaten, such as Niagara, Bucknell, and Boise State.

Now that Griffin and Stockard are back, I expect the Bonnies to pick up the pace a little bit, but it’s still hard to see them having the pieces necessary for a run at a conference title this season. Their future looks bright because of freshmen like Kyle Lofton, Dom Welch, and Osun Osunniyi, but I’m not sure if they’re ready to play significant roles on a winning team just quite yet. We’ll know more about the Bonnies when they travel to Alexandria to take on a hot George Mason team in their conference opener.
