Maryland basketball (14-3, 5-1 Big Ten) had their hands full with a tough Indiana Hoosiers (12-4, 3-2 Big Ten) defense but a second-half surge led to yet another B1G win.

The Indiana Hoosiers jumped out to a 9-0 lead behind solid defense and taking the ball inside.

Maryland basketball continued to push Indiana not allowing their big lead to affect the way the Terps played. With a little over six minutes to go, the Terps were down 28-14.

Anthony Cowan Jr. and Bruno Fernando led a 5-0 run to cut the Hoosiers lead to six, 30-24. They were able to stretch it out to end the half up eight, 35-27 behind Devonte Green’s 10 points and Romeo Langford’s eight points.

For Maryland basketball, Cowan Jr., Fernando, and Eric Ayala all had eight points apiece.

Despite the Indiana Hoosiers using defense to get their offense going in the first half, the Terps could have let this game get out of hand but much like the Minnesota game, they fought back to take the lead in the second half.

It helped that they had the Xfinity Center crowd behind them. At the 16:11 mark, the Terps tied the game at 37 a piece with a thunderous dunk by Fernando.

He led the way for the Terps making play after play in the second half including a three-pointer, his fifth of the season. That got the crowd excited.

For Maryland, it was about playing solid defense down the stretch. They were in danger of giving up the lead as it was knocked down to just five points, 70-65 with 1:18 to go.

With 25.9 seconds to go, 74-70 was the score and the Hoosiers could have made a comeback win but free throws sealed the victory.

Maryland basketball keeps their winning streak alive beating Indiana 78-75 as a late three-pointer by Green hit the bottom of the net. The Terps play another tough opponent In the Wisconsin Badgers Monday at 8:30 pm on FS1.

Fernando finished with his ninth double-double of the season, 25 points and 13 rebounds, Cowan Jr. put up 24 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and Ayala had 14 points and three rebounds.
