The conference season is heating up and with it comes some big upsets. It was a crazy week of NCAA basketball, but who came out as a winner and who did less than their best work?
With NCAA Basketball conference season in full swing now across the country, we have been treated with some great basketball and some big upsets. Pittsburgh won their first conference game in over a year. Rutgers beat Ohio State and Louisville blew out North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Michigan and Michigan State keep playing dominate basketball with an eye on their matchup in late February.
The conference season is the best part of the year outside of March Madness and it has not disappointed so far. We are starting to see some surprise teams rise to the top and others we thought were contenders show their true selves.
The Big Ten is showing its strength and depth, while the Pac-12 continues to show just how bad it really is. They have to be worried about only getting one team in the tournament unless somethings change. That would be good news for the mid-majors as it may open some at-large possibilities (looking at you San Francisco).
This week showed us Duke could survive with Zion Williamson, at least for one game (barely). And St. John’s really misses Shamorie Ponds and hope he is not out an extended amount of time. It also showed that Kansas is vulnerable, for now. And maybe Villanova could win the Big East after all.
It a fun week who came out as winners and who was on the wrong end. We take a look at the top five for both for last week.
