No. 1: The supreme scoring of Markus Howard

Haven’t heard of Markus Howard? Wake up.

The Marquette junior has been putting up record-breaking numbers all season, and his two biggest games have come in the biggest situations.

The first came against #16 Buffalo, when Howard dropped 40 (!!) points in the second half, leading Marquette to a huge win.

The second came in Marquette’s overtime win over Creighton last week, when Howard scored a Big East-record FIFETY THREE points. Yeah, Howard is about as good as it gets.

In a big test on the road, Howard will need to do just the same. As arguably the National Player of the Year Frontrunner, Howard will need to be nothing short of excellent in order for Marquette to take this one.

Maybe now 53 points excellent, but if he can score in his average, which is in the mid-20s, Marquette should be fine. Honestly, I would expect Howard to exceed that, just based on his showcases this season.

Markus Howard is easily the best player in the Big East, and Tuesday’s game will be another test of his stardom. If Howard can put up earth-shattering numbers again, Marquette will be just fine.

How many points will Markus Howard score? Skys the limit. Georgetown needs to do as much as possible to contain Howard, but that is quite the daunting task. Howard should put up some eye-opening numbers on Tuesday, if this season has been any indication.
