After struggling a bit during a three-game road trip, Butler basketball returned to Hinkle Fieldhouse for a big-time win over St. John’s.

Has Butler basketball found a rhythm? After starting 1-3 in conference play with a couple of crushing losses, the Dawgs responded in a big way during this past week with back-to-back wins over DePaul and St. John’s. The latter of these victories, which came over the Red Storm at home, was one of the better all-around performances by the team so far this season. With stars Kamar Baldwin (30 pts/8 rebs) and Jordan Tucker (24 pts/6 rebs) leading the way, the Dawgs played an extremely high level to take the victory.

Oh, and it didn’t hurt that the Dawgs were back in front of a sold-out Hinkle Fieldhouse crowd for the first time in a while. The Butler fans and players fed off of each other in this matchup even when the lead started to crumble a bit down the stretch. The Dawgs fought through the difficult times in the game and managed to come out on top for one of their better wins of the year.

And while there are still plenty of games left on the schedule, this could be the turning point of the year. This could, of course, all change in the coming weeks but it seems as though the Dawgs are starting to realize their potential. Head coach LaVall Jordan has the team trending in the right direction and that is a great sign not only for this year but also the future.

Now, let’s dive into breaking down the Dawgs’ recent win over the Red Storm.
