No. 3: Can Coby White and Cameron Johnson follow up big games?

We’ve talked about how inconsistency has hurt the North Carolina Tar Heels this season.

Part of that inconsistency has been the failure of UNC players to show up in big games. Two players in particular, Coby White and Cameron Johnson, have struggled in that regard.

Johnson, a senior guard, has shot at a lower percentage than in past seasons, especially in bigger games. Meanwhile White, a five-star freshman point guard, has really struggled with turnovers and offensive consistency in big games.

However on Saturday, White and Johnson led the charge for the Tar Heels. Johnson dropped 22 points and seven rebounds, while White added 15 points of his own, as well as eight assists and five boards.

White and Johnson absolutely need to follow up those numbers in a big way on Monday. Luke Maye can’t do it all on offense, but when Johnson and Little show up, it takes pressure off of Maye, and subsequently improves the flow of the entire offense.

Two of the best players on the North Carolina team, Coby White and Cameron Johnson certainly need to replicate their numbers from Saturday’s game in order to come through with a big win over Virginia Tech on Monday.
