No. 2 Michigan and No. 4 Virginia, college basketball’s last two undefeated teams, lost on Saturday. Where do they rank among the one-loss NCAA Basketball teams in the country?

Before the new year of the 2017-18 college basketball season, every team had suffered at least one loss. It took nearly three weeks longer for the remaining undefeated teams to fall for the first time this season.

No. 4 Virginia was this year’s final unbeaten team; No. 2 Michigan had suffered its first loss just hours earlier. The former lost to No. 1 Duke on the road in a contest that was competitive for all 40 minutes. The Cavaliers were fresh off their win over No. 9 Virginia Tech earlier in the week.

The Wolverines, meanwhile, fell to a struggling Wisconsin group in the Kohl Center. Freshman sensation Ignas Brazdeikis (15.6 points per game) was held scoreless while senior star Ethan Happ posted 26 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

Even with their losses, Michigan and Virginia both have strong cases for the No. 1 ranking in the country considering Duke lost to a rather disappointing Syracuse team in Durham. But, the top spot in college basketball may not be given to a one-loss team. No. 5 Gonzaga and No. 6 Michigan State, who both have two losses, may find themselves atop Monday’s AP poll.

Including Michigan and Virginia, six Division 1 teams have only one loss on the season. At this time last year, Villanova and Virginia were the only two schools with a one in the loss column.

How do these six teams stack up? Here are the top one-loss teams in the country, ranked:
