With so many teams rotating into and out of the AP Top 25, who is the favorite to win the Big Ten Basketball Regular Season Championship and Player of the Year award?

Each week on the Busting Brackets Podcast, Brian Rauf and Connor Hope will sit down with two other contributors and discuss the previous week, with a focus on individual conferences or regions.

This week, Adam Childs and Austin Walther joined us to discuss Duke’s rocky week, Virginia’s status as a National Championship contender, and battle between Michigan and Michigan St for the top spot in the Big Ten. We also had some fun, predicting who would win Big Ten Player of the Year and comparing some blind NCAA Tournament Resumes.

To start, we discuss Duke’s loss to Syracuse and huge victory over Virginia. Brian and I discussed the state of Duke Men’s Basketball without Tre Jones, while Adam and Austin gave their takes on what led to Syracuse’ stunning victory. We also discuss Virginia’s position at the top of college hoops and Tennessee’s dominance of the bottom of the SEC.

At the 8:40 mark, we move to the Big Ten with a debate over whether Michigan or Michigan St is the best team in the conference. Following this debate, we shift our focus to the Big Ten Player of the Year award and identify individuals who are positioning themselves well to win the award.

Following this discussion, at the 14:30 mark, we move to the rest of the conference and discuss the teams that have the ability to make the NCAA Tournament. After this discussion, we look at some blind resumes, pitting two Big Ten teams against other teams with a similar resumes. Adam and Brian discuss how some of the resumes in the conference are not quite as strong as their fans may believe.

To finish the podcast, Connor and Adam identify which teams they feel can make a run in the NCAA Tournament and pick their favorite to win the Big Ten Regular Season Championship.
