The bubble is more volatile than ever in NCAA Basketball Bracketology. Which programs really hurt themselves this past week when it comes to making the NCAA Tournament?

We’re approaching the midway point of conference play for the 2018-19 college basketball season. At this point, most teams are in one of five categories. There are the top-tier programs who are all but guaranteed an NCAA Tournament bid, now just working on a top-4 seed. Then there are those who are in a great position to get a bid, but a four-game losing streak could bring them down to the danger zone.

On the opposite side are teams who are pretty much eliminated unless they win their respective conference tournament, as well as teams who desperately need multiple quality wins to be back in the bubble picture. In the middle lies teams who could go either way at this point, making these upcoming games crucial.

Some teams are going in the opposite direction, including those who were apart of last week’s Bracketology Losers. Indiana has completely fallen down, losing two more games in a row last week. And while San Francisco could afford a loss to Gonzaga, they couldn’t have afforded a defeat this past Saturday against Pepperdine.

Those two were losers in their own right, but there were others who are messed up. Some put themselves in a bad spot while others might be out of the bubble picture altogether after last week. Here are five specific examples to look at.
