4. Iowa State Cyclones (17-5, 6-3 Conference Play)

Previous Ranking: No. 5

I think it is safe to say that the Iowa State Cyclones are the most consistent team in the Big 12.

After losing on the road against Kansas two weeks ago, the Cyclones have won three-consecutive games, including a win on the road against a ranked Ole Miss team.

In tune with the wins, everything possible is clicking for Iowa State. Lindell Wigginton’s injury seems like it was centuries ago. Talen Horton-Tucker, after struggling at the start of conference play, has looked every bit of the premier prospect that he is, and Marial Shayok looks more and more like the Big 12 Player of the Year every day.

In addition to being the most consistent team in the league, the Cyclone’s are also the most balanced team in the league. Their mix of shooting, size and defense is deadly, and suits them really well to make a deep run in the Big 12 and in the NCAA Tournament.

Not to mention that Iowa State is already done facing Kansas, and has just one more game against Texas Tech. There is a real chance that Iowa State could finish the conference play season with just five or six losses, which in this league, could indeed be enough to dethrone Kansas.
