3. Texas Tech Red Raiders (17-5, 5-4 Conference Play)

Previous Ranking: No. 1

It has been a really rough stretch for the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

After being the last remaining unbeaten team in the conference, the Red Raiders lost three consecutive games, before beating Arkansas and TCU in back-to-back games.

Then, Texas Tech had its long-awaited face-off against Kansas. This game was supposed to be a closely-contested battle that would determine the top team in the league.

Oh it determined the top team in the league alright. Spoiler alert: Its not Tech.

The Red Raiders got blown out of Lawrence, losing by 16. There’s still plenty of time for the Red Raiders to recover, but this three-week stretch has been nothing short of a disaster in Lubbock.

Despite the recent rough patch, I am still a huge fan of this Texas Tech squad. Jarrett Culver is as good as anyone in the conference, and the Red Raider’s defense is just deadly.

Conference championship hopes will diminish real quick if they continue to lose at this pace, but I have faith that the true colors of this Tech team will show, and that they will eventually be the one’s to dethrone Kansas.

They need a couple of wins in a row, but don’t let the skid fool you: they’ve got it in them.
