Penn State Basketball is at a low point as a program. What are the steps needed for the Nittany Lions to get better?

Penn State Basketball sits at 7-14 (0-10) at press time, good for last place in the conference. It is safe to classify this season as immensely disappointing. While the departure of Tony Carr was supposed to hinder the potential of this year’s team a little, most fans still expected Chambers to build upon last season’s late success. The opposite has happened, and a record that no one saw coming has resulted. Granted, the Nittany Lions compete in almost every game and they might not be as bad as the record suggests, but the current state of the program is unacceptable.

Changes from the top-down need to take place at Penn State. Sure, a coaching change comes to mind when that statement is made, but changes from the very top are also in order. It is undeniable that the administration needs to change their philosophy going forward. A change in atmosphere needs to come about as well, and that might need be as hard as it seems at first thought.

While there is no quick fix to turn this program around in one year, the blueprint for elevating Penn State basketball is not all that complicated. Here are 3 things that need to happen for that improvement to happen.
