Purdue and Wisconsin have been two of the hottest teams in basketball lately. Is it enough for them to climb to the top of Big Ten Basketball power rankings?

Since the beginning of the season Big Ten Basketball has been dominated by Michigan and Michigan State and it looked like they were going to run away and hide from everybody else. Purdue and Wisconsin have had something to say about that lately. While the Michigan schools have dropped a couple of games in the past few weeks both the Boilermakers and Badgers have continued to win.

Purdue looks like they could be the favorite now to win the regular season title as their schedule is the easiest of any of the contenders. They may not be the most talented team in the conference but because of their schedule, they could win it.

Wisconsin still has a lot of tough games remaining including having to play Michigan State and Michigan again, but with Ethan Happ they will be in any game they play. They just beat Maryland who is starting to trend down. The Terrapins looked like they might be the third best team but losing three out of four has them slipping.

Iowa is a team to watch also after playing their best game of the year in upsetting Michigan at home on Friday night. At the bottom, Penn State finally picked up their first conference win and Northwestern looks like a mess.

So who is at the top of the power rankings this week? Let’s take a look as we evaluate each team and what they have to look forward to.
